The LUPA Community Walk at Bass Lake
The LUPA Community Walk was created from a simple idea — bringing people together again in a meaningful way. In a world where life has become so fast-paced and disconnected, we wanted to create something centred around community, wellness, movement, and supporting one another.
The walk will take place at Bass Lake, Henley on Klip, and is a 5km scenic community walk open to all ages and fitness levels. More than just a fitness event, it is intended to create a space where families, friends, local businesses, and community members can connect, breathe, and spend time together in a positive environment.
This year’s walk is proudly in support of Hoep Hoep Pre-Primary School, with proceeds from the event going toward the school and its ongoing needs. Hoep Hoep has been a valued part of the local community for many years and plays an important role in the early development and education of young children in the area. Supporting local schools means investing directly back into the future of the community, which is something very important to us.
The event has also created an opportunity for local businesses to become involved through water points, activations, promotions, and sponsorship opportunities along the route. The response from the Henley community has been incredibly positive, and it has been amazing to see people come together around something uplifting and purposeful.
In addition to the walk itself, the event will include themed dress-up fun, team participation, wellness elements, and an optional ice bath experience afterwards for participants wanting to challenge themselves and be part of the recovery and wellness side of the event. The atmosphere we hope to create is one of encouragement, connection, and positivity.
LUPA itself is built around the idea of “coming back to what matters.” It focuses on wellness, movement, emotional strength, community connection, and creating intentional spaces where people feel supported and inspired.
We hope this will become an ongoing annual community event that continues to grow and make a positive impact in Henley on Klip and surrounding areas.
